For Gilleam Trapenberg’s exhibition Unbé t’aweró, Recent™ designed a publication that draws from the visual vernacular of Curaçaoan street booklets—objects traditionally found in pharmacies and corner stores across the island.

Referencing a Xerox-style aesthetic, the booklet is both a nod to the Caribbean printed matter many grew up with and a deliberate design intervention that adds cultural context to the exhibition. Through typography, layout, and material choices, the studio translated Gilleam’s visual narrative into a tactile artifact that bridges past and present—holding space for reflection on colonial legacies and the stillness of the island today.
