As part of a larger urban regeneration initiative, Recent™ partnered with CBRE and 25 local businesses in the Amsterdamse Poort neighborhood to revitalize their identities — celebrating culture, community and roots. One of those businesses was Vle’s Kitchen, a beloved Surinamese eatery known for its authentic, home-style comfort food.

Recent™ developed a vibrant brand identity rooted in Surinamese pride. Every aspect of the brand dialed into Vle’s personality with expressive character work, bold typography and a blend of fiery red, deep maroon, and fresh green palette — echoing the national colors of Suriname.
